In addition to his duties as Chairman, he continued the practice of general anesthesia, while also providing interventional pain management to patients. During this time he realized there was a strong need in the community for treatment of painful disorders through non drug therapy. In 1990 he decided to redirect his anesthesia practice to managing and treating acute and chronic pain through interventional techniques. He has performed over 75,000 interventional pain management procedures using fluoroscopy and ultrasound.
